Gettysburg is often called “The Most Famous Small town in America,” and it’s a moniker well earned. What happened here stays with us not only as a matter of historical record, but also in cultural memories that help define what America is and what it could become. In this Landmarks workshop participants will have opportunities to learn from leading scholars of history and memory to develop new ways of understanding and appreciating the significance of the battle of Gettysburg and its enduring importance as a cultural and historical signifier of American identity.
